Rise to Ruins Description
Rise to Ruins, developed by SixtyGig Games, is a strategy game where the player builds and supervises a small village. The game is characterized by a high level of difficulty and refers to such titles as Gnomoria, Towns, The Settlers, Banished or Dwarf Fortress. The game also has elements of strategic sub-genres of tower defense and godlike.
Mechanics
Rise to Ruins uses a top-down perspective, and the game can take place on one of several different maps. Our task is to build and develop a settlement, as well as to defend it from monsters. We have the opportunity to erect buildings and delegate our dwellers to various tasks. Apart from building a village and supervising its inhabitants, SixtyGig Games' production also offers a number of additional options associated with the strategic godlike sub-genre (games in which we play as a deity) - we can, among other things, influence the shape of the terrain, hit opponents with a thunder, heal our people and pick up creatures and objects visible on the map.
Game modes
Rise to Ruins has onle a single-player mode. The developers have prepared three different game modes: Survival (default, characterized by a high level of difficulty), Peaceful (more traditional village sim - the emphasis on the war aspect is limited) and Sandbox (the player adjusts various settings themselves).
Technical aspects
Rise to Ruins has a very simple, two-dimensional graphics, typical for independent games. Graphics is unlikely to arouse admiration, but it is competent in conveying the information needed during the game. The game has a soundtrack created by Jose Ramon "Bibiki" Garcia.
