Iron Cross is a special edition of Rise of Flight: The First Great Air War with even more planes, more elaborate terrain textures and new missions to complete. Take on the aces of the skies and confront the pilots of enemy machines in the 1917-1918 sky war on the western front.

Released in 2009 by the Russian neoqb studio, Rise of Flight: The First Great Air War was very well received by reviewers and players alike. Its creators managed to shoot perfectly into a market niche, as for several years the World War I aeronautical simulator species was practically non-existent. Iron Cross Edition can be considered as the developer's response to players' suggestions and interesting development of ideas from the earlier RoF release.

The action of the game takes place in the years 1917-1918. On the western front of the First World War fierce fights continue. Air forces are playing an increasingly important military role. Two and three plane planes not only carry out reconnaissance missions, but they also fire at enemy positions and drop bombs on ground targets.

Rise of Flight: ICE gives players a chance to taste every aspect of World War I air fights. The game allows you to sit at the helm of eight legendary planes from that period: Fall XIII, Fokker D.VII, Albatros D.Va, Nieuport 28, SE.5a, Pfalz D.IIIa, Sopwith Camel and Fokker Dr.1. Each of the airframe has been reproduced with great attention to detail (there are several historical versions of painting to choose from), but also compliance with the actual technical parameters.

Single player mode includes single mission or career options in the French, UK, US or German Air Force. RoF: ICE includes two additional campaigns: "Hat in the Ring" and "Du Doch Nicht", allowing you to gain new medals and achievements.

Compared to Rise of Flight: The First Great Air War, the mechanics of the game has changed slightly. First of all, several additional factors were taken into account, including the overload force and wounds suffered by the airframe pilot.

Rise of Flight: Iron Cross Edition has also improved the quality of the graphics, which translates into a more detailed reproduction of the terrain (in line with historical realities) and natural-looking clouds and atmospheric phenomena - rain, wind, etc.

In multiplayer mode, the game offers up to 64 players the possibility of having fun together. Heavy battles can be fought using, among other things, the option of respawn precipitated machines, thanks to which battles gain even greater dynamics and spectacularity.

It is worth noting that although solo gaming does not require an Internet connection, some features can only be accessed by registering the product on the official Rise of Flight website.
