RIDE 2 is a continuation to a motorcycle racing simulator developed by Milestone and released in 2015. The player takes part in subsequent, exciting competitions coming in several single and multiplayer modes. World Tour is the main mode here and the player competes against the AI in subsequent events (there are various kinds of them) organized all over the world.
RIDE 2 for PC, PS4 and XONE is a motorcycle racing simulator created by Milestone - an Italian developer behind production of the first installment as well. The team is also popular for several installments in such series as Superbike or MotoGP.
Mechanics
RIDE 2 offers over two hundred motorcycle models. The creators obtained all the required licenses, thus all the in-game bikes were carefully recreated, both in terms of their visuals and performance. The bikes can be tested when racing on over thirty tracks divided into seven categories.
Realism was of high importance for the creators, and thus RIDE 2 is more advanced than its predecessor in this aspect. Although the bikes are genuinely powerful here, it is difficult to control them - even small mistakes can lead to a crash, though the less experienced players can enable numerous assists.
Also, RIDE 2 for PC, PS4 and XONE features an extensive bike modification system. Many changes were introduced into this particular element as well, for the game offers over 1200 parts, allowing the player to modify nearly all the elements which affect the bike's performance.
Game modes
The game offers several singleplayer modes. The World Tour mode is the most important here, giving the player an opportunity to compete against the AI during events organized all over the world and divided into such categories as Superbike 1000, Superbike 600 or Historical Championships. Apart from regular races, the player participates in time challenges or parallel races. All the successes and failures shape the reputation of the player-controlled rider and decide about further developments in their career.
RIDE 2 offers a multiplayer experience as well. Both single racing events and entire championships are available in the multiplayer.
Technical aspects
In terms of the visuals, RIDE 2 for PC, PS4 and XONE is definitely ahead of its predecessor. Textures are sharper and motorcycle models are more detailed. Also, the tracks look more realistic. Furthermore, the in-game AI was significantly improved.
