Retrowave is a retro racing game based on futuristic visions of the future from the 80s. The project focuses on simple gameplay, neon-lit tracks and synthwave music.

Retrowave is a racing game inspired by the style of the 80's. The project was developed by RewindApp studio known from Initial Drift Online.

Game mechanics

The game is based on racing games from the 80s and the first half of the 90s, such as Lotus III or Outrun. So we do not have here the free exploration of city streets or the ability to choose the route. Instead, our car speeds along a straight road ahead, and we only control acceleration, braking and lane changes. The game's maps are densely packed with other cars and obstacles, so collision avoidance plays a key role.

In Retrowave we start with one car, and then for the prizes gained in races we can improve it and buy new machines. We play with all of them in five different worlds with unique visual styles and in four game modes.
