Retro Goal

Retro Goal is a football game with arcade mechanics and elements of management strategy. The project was developed by New Star Games studio, the authors of New Star Soccer series.

Game can be downloaded for free and in this form it allows to play ten matches. The unlimited version is unlocked with a one-time micropayment.

Game mechanics

Unlike the New Star Soccer series, in which we always managed only a specific footballer, Retro Goal offers a more classic approach to the football theme, allowing us to take control of the entire team.

The game mechanics are dynamic and highly arcade-like, referencing solutions from soccer games on 16-bit computers and consoles. However, in Retro Goal we don't play full matches. Instead, they take place automatically, and we take control only in key moments, impacting the result of the entire match.

Between the matches we manage the team. We train, recruit players and take care of the club's finances. The player can construct buildings for the club and create tactics for the matches. After the matches, he also decides which players to praise and which to reprimand.

The statistics of the players and the club play an important role in the results of the single matches and the entire league, but they do not determine defeats and losses. It is possible to beat a stronger team, as long as you plan your tactics properly and manage your players efficiently.

Game modes

Retro Goal offers only single player mode. We can play in one of the biggest European leagues such as Premier League, Bundesliga, La Liga or Serie A. At first, only the poorest clubs will want to hire us, but as our managerial career develops, we will start receiving offers from bigger teams as well.

Technical aspects

The game has fully 2D graphics made in a retro style full of large pixels.
