Rescue 2: Everyday Heroes for PC is the second installment of the Rescue series, initiated by Rescue 2013: Everyday Heroes. The game was developed by Fragment Production, a Finish studio known from the previous installment, as well as Roadside Assistance Simulator, while the distributor, Rondomedia, had introduced a number of unique simulators to the market, including Scania Truck Driving Simulator, Construction Simulator 2015, or Airport Firefighter Simulator 2013.
Plot
The plot of Rescue 2: Everyday Heroes has a rather secondary nature, as the player assumes the role of a captain of the Belvitsia fire department, who has to lead his subordinates during various rescue missions.
Mechanics
Rescue 2: Everyday Heroes is a strategy game depicting daily life of firefighters. Our responsiblities include a variety of different duties – buying and choosing equipment, recruiting new firefighters, exchanging cars between the individual departments, or sending the men to various assignments and coordinating their actions. In case of a fire, we need to find a water source, use the the right extinguishing agents, as well as apply the countermeasure to the right location. Nevertheless, there are numerous situations that don’t involve fires (e.g. rescuing a group of victims from a train accident).
Game Modes
Rescue 2: Everyday Heroes treats us to a map of Belvitsia. We are left with a set of story missions, as well as a number of everyday missions that can be completed at will.
Technical Aspects
The graphics are not the top of the line, and are mostly similar to what we could encounter in the first installment, released in 2013. The environment and textures are not detailed enough to create a strong effect of immersion, but work well during gameplay, considering Rescue 2 is a strategy game.
