Renegade X Description
Renegade X for PC is a first person online shooter, which draws inspiration from the universe of the renowned Command & Conquer. The production was created by the Totem Arts studio, the team itself is largely made out of fans of the previously mentioned saga. The amateurs have taken up quite the challenge: they aim to create the spiritual successor to Command & Conquer: Renegade. The predecessor from the year 2002 has presented the already well-known RTS world from an entirely different angle, allowing the players to step into the shoes of one of the soldiers.
Story
In Renegade X the players choose one of the two distinctive factions – the Global Defense Initiative (GDI) or the Brotherhood of Nod. The first of the mentioned forces is a military organization, created to fight terrorism; the latter represents a completely different approach – it is a mysterious, paramilitary cult. Each of the mentioned groups has their own unique buildings, units and tactics at their disposal, which allows for a lot of variety when it comes to the actual gameplay.
Gameplay
Renegade X for PC differs from other online shooters because of many different factors. First of all, the producers tried to combine the attributes of a dynamic action game with RTS elements, which makes the battlefields extremely vast and grants each of the teams a variety of tools and weapons to work with. All of the above makes each of the skirmishes in the production seem like an actual war, with battles waging on multiple fronts at the same time.
Technology
The title originated as a mod for the Unreal Tournament 3 game; later on, the developers decided to switch to the Unreal Development Kit, which is why Renegade X became a standalone production. The technology of the Epic Games company and the sheer amount of work put into the title by the Totem Arts studio have borne fruit in the form of exceptional graphics.
