Redout 2 is a sequel to the futuristic racing game from 2016. Players compete on twisted routes using machines equipped with anti-gravity engines.
Redout 2 is a racing game in the sci-fi style. It was developed by 34BigThings studio, the same team that created the first part of the series released in 2016, as well as Goat of Duty.
Plot
The action of the game takes place in the distant future, where a large part of the Earth has been abandoned by humanity. However, many of these areas have been transformed into impressive racetracks, where the best racers compete using powerful sliders that use anti-gravity engines.
Game mechanics
Redout 2 is a futuristic racing game referring to classic representatives of this genre, such as the WipEout or F-Zero series. The game is characterized by very high speeds reached by the machines and very twisted tracks. The tracks are dangerous and eliminating opponents by pushing them over obstacles plays a key role in the game.
The production offers twelve basic designs of chassis and allows to mount on them a multitude of different types of parts, which in total provides a large selection of possible hoverships. Players can choose between a rich set of different types of engines, stabilizers, rudders, flaps, walking devices, wings, spoilers, or body parts.
There are different kinds of races. We have traditional competitions, where the first player at the finish line wins, as well as tournaments, which continue until there is only one player left on the track. We can also play solo, trying to achieve the best time, as well as face the bosses in racing battles.
Game modes
Redout 2 offers both single player and multiplayer modes. Fans of solo play can have fun in an expanded career mode, in which we take part in hundreds of challenges on 36 tracks. Each of the tracks is also available in reverse mode, where we beat it in the opposite direction.
In turn, up to 12 people can take part in online battles in a single race. The competition is made more attractive by regularly delivered unique challenges and seasons, allowing to unlock additional elements for the machines.
Technical aspects
The game features an attractive 3D graphics, whose main strengths are interestingly designed machines, visually twisted routes and huge speeds reached by hoverships.
A strong side of Redout II is also the soundtrack. We can listen to tracks by popular electronic musicians such as Giorgio Moroder, Zardonic or Dance with the Dead group. The authors of the game have prepared a system of algorithms, which mix the music live, adapting it to the situation on the tracks.

Game Rant: 2 / 5 by Trever McKenzie
Redout 2 is a visual treat that makes no attempt to tune the experience for casual players.
TheSixthAxis: 8 / 10 by Dominic Leighton
Redout 2 is brutal, beautiful, and insanely fast. This is the first anti-grav racing sim, and we didn't even have to wait until 2048 to get started.
Push Square: 6 / 10 by Robert Ramsey
What we're trying to say is that Redout 2 won't be worth the effort for a lot of people. It is rewarding, sure, but to be brutally honest, part of us thinks that you should just boot up WipEout Omega Collection instead and save yourself the trouble.
