Third installment in the series of arcade racing games, begun in 1999 with a PC title. In Re-Volt3, developed by WeGo Interactive, we take part in high-speed races of remote-controlled vehicles, taking place in various environments: from professional race tracks, through off-road courses, up to dirty backyards.
Re-Volt3 for AND and iOS is a new installment from a popular series of mobile racing games. The game was developed by WeGo Interactive, an independent studio responsible for the mobile port of the first installment, and the second, mobile-only part.
Mechanics
In Re-Volt3, the players take part in high-speed races of remote-controlled vehicles. We can choose from over fifty cars, including the virtual recreations of sport and exotic cars, as well as buggies and monster trucks. The individual vehicles can be modified – from optical tuning that allows us to change the external appearance of the car, up to new parts that increase our ride’s performance and our chances of winning without having to spend extra money on a new vehicle. Additionally, we can share vehicle designs with the online community.
Our goal is to be the first car to cross the finish line – a mission that can be accomplished through fair racing, as well as by violently engaging our opponents. Each track is scattered with numerous pick-ups, allowing us to slow down other racers, fire ice projectiles or immobilizing EMP pulses, or to equip a booster, temporarily accelerating our vehicle. The levels are located in various environments, from professional race courses, through off-road country tracks, up to dirty backyards. The game is characterized by its arcade driving model.
Game Modes
The authors decided to focus on the multiplayer mode, offering online racing for players all around the world. Aside from that, the game contains a singleplayer module with over a hundred races – in this case, your opponents are controlled by the AI.
Technical Aspects
Re-volt3 for AND and iOS takes place in a three-dimensional environment – the action is seen from third-person perspective, while the graphics are decent. The game is distributed in a free-to-play model with optional micro-transactions.
