A direct continuation of the cult, two-dimensional shooting with vertical scrolling. In this version we sit at the helm of a modern fighter to face the invasion of aliens again. Defeated in the first part of the game enemies managed to rebuild their powerful army and return to complete their work of destroying our planet.

Raiden II is a direct continuation of the cult, two-dimensional top-down shooting, which debuted in 1990 on coin-op machines. Sequel appeared in game rooms in 1993, and four years later, thanks to Gamesoft Corporation, it was released on a PC - initially only in Japan. In 1999, thanks to the efforts of Cyberfront, the game was also released in the USA.

Three years after the success of the global military alliance in the fight against the Cranassin invaders, the world once again remembered the alien invasion. The small groups of enemies remaining on Earth after the war managed, acting in conspiracy, to rebuild their powerful army and decided to complete the interrupted mission of colonization of the planet. For this reason, we are forced to sit back at the helm of a fighter known from the first part and equipped with new, deadly weapons, to set off on the relief of the Earth.
