Raging Loop Description
Raging Loop is a visual novel adventure game set in a secluded Japanese village that celebrates a mysterious festival deeply rooted in local folklore. The title's developer is Kemco, founded in 1984, specializing in the creation of low-budget jRPGs.
Plot
The main protagonist of Raging Loop is Haruaki Fusaishi, a young man who arrives in Yasumizu, a small, isolated village deep in the Japanese mountains. Shortly after acclimatizing, the protagonist is forced to participate in an extremely suspicious folk festival, commonly referred to as a "feast". What is more, he also discovers that the extremely dense fog surrounding the settlement during the event prevents him from getting out or making contact with the outside world.
According to the tradition, during the festival, the villagers are hunted by an ancient deity in the form of a werewolf in an act of revenge. Haruaki soon becomes its victim, but soon after death he returns to life and mysteriously moves back in time to his first day in the village. Desperate and trapped in a time loop, he decides to find a way to escape. At the same time, he also tries to solve the mystery of the "feast" in order to see if there is a supernatural being behind the murders.
Mechanics
Raging Loop is a typical visual novel. Gameplay comes down to reading subsequent chapters of the story, accompanied by illustrations, as well as making decisions affecting the course of the game. Raging Loop features many different endings, thanks to which players gradually learn the secrets of the village. After unlocking all available endings, we get access to a new game mode, in which the plot is enriched with completely new elements and scenes, and players can learn about the internal thoughts and motivations of all the key characters encountered during the story.
Technical aspects
Raging Loop features average visuals, but the game is accompanied by an atmospheric soundtrack. It is worth noting that the game is devoid of any voice acting.
