Rage Hard is a networked, tactical and embedded in the near future, FPS, mostly using ideas and solutions already well known to fans of this genre of games. So here we have a wide selection of more or less realistic weapons, several colorful characters from different communities, and three-dimensional graphics using the power of today's graphics platforms.
The main theme of the skirmishes in Rage Hard is of course the bloody competition. Battles are divided into rounds, and the bars are made up of representatives of various professions, mainly terrorists, mercenaries, armed gangs and police forces (including well-equipped and trained SWAT anti-terrorist units). As is usually the case in this type of games, bandits often play unclean games (put bombs, take hostages), which of course complicates the lives of legal guardians, because it is not enough only to eliminate rebels, but also to save some defenseless women or to protect a valuable building from being blown into the air.
Both sides are equipped with a wide range of different weapons: knives, three types of guns (from ordinary, 15-shot 9 mm Parabellum through heavy Magnum .44 to extremely effective, automatic guns of the type .45ACP, standard equipment of SWAT units), light 9 mm Ingram machine gun, two rifles (with standard or automatic reloading, reminiscent of Pancor Jackhammer, both 12 shotguns), two assault rifles (M-4 and AK-47, with calibers 5.56 mm and 7.62 mm) and a light sniper rifle (type Dragunov, calibre 7.62 mm) and a deadly short-range flame thrower. Each weapon is, of course, described with its own set of parameters and works in different situations. As you can see, there is no shortage of diversity and everyone will find the right tool for murder. It is worth to be effective, because the successes are rewarded with a lot of cash, which we use to buy better and more effective weaponry.
The characters in the game are much more colorful than those found e.g. in Counter-Strike, mainly due to the involvement of interestingly presented street gangs, who do not turn out to be less well trained or equipped than the serial terrorists and police officers from special forces.
