RADicalRoach is the first game created by the development team of the independent Decaying Logic studio. The production is addressed to lovers of classic, arcade shooters of the "shump" type.
The action of the game takes place after the outbreak of nuclear war, which led to the extinction of most of the living creatures on the planet. Only the toughest insects survived. The power over the destroyed world was taken over by mutated flies. The main character, the cockroach, who under the influence of irradiation gained a number of new skills, leads a rebellion against buzzing tyranny.
Dynamic gameplay is based on the characteristic mechanisms of shooters "shoot'em up". The player observes the action from the side view of the camera. His task is to control the flight of the title hero and shoot at a hordes of enemies. The creators took care of a large variety of opponents (such as fiery flies, mosquitoes and larvae), among which there are also particularly demanding bosses of boards. Luckily, the cockroach can take advantage of many power-ups, e.g. to obtain a temporary cover or to increase the effectiveness of the weapon.
RADicalRoach visual setting is maintained in cartoon style. Developers from Decaying Logic resorted to two-dimensional graphics with simple animations. Events connected with the plot of the game are illustrated in the form of cartoon interludes.
