Radiant Historia Description
The story is about the adventures of three heroes. Stock, Rainey and Marco cross the continent of Vainqueur, which has been hit by a strange plague. The surrounding area is rapidly turning into a desert, and the people who live there are becoming sand monsters.
The land is divided into five countries. Our three represent one of them, Alicetel. Stock sent to a neighbouring Granorg with a spy mission is quickly captured. At this point, Rainey and Marco enter the action, whose task is to reflect their companion. Our spy moves to another dimension, called History, as a result of the wounds he suffered. It is here that he discovers that he has the ability to control time and space. This ability is useful when looking for a cure for a mysterious plague.
This power also has a significant impact on the mechanics of the game. The game will force us to make some important choices. However, the possibility to go back in time allows the original decision to be changed. The option of going back is also useful if the time line turns out to be a blind alley from which we can no longer push the plot.
The fight in Radiant Historia takes place in arenas divided into nine halves. Larger damage is dealt to enemies closer to us, and a change of position on the board gives us the ability to attack several enemies. The lower screen displays the next attacker. If a team manages to make three attacks, one after the other, we have a chance to deal extra damage by doing a special combo.
Graphics are based on three-dimensional backgrounds and two-dimensional characters. Yoko Shimomura, author of soundtracks for titles such as Final Fantasy Versus XIII or Kingdom Hearts series, is responsible for the music.
