Quarky & Quaysoo's Turbo Science is an educational game created by Jeff Tunnell, a Dynamix programmer, mainly known from The Incredible Machine series. Quarky's cosmic siblings and Quaysoo O'Ghandi, as the Los Turbos team, stand for an intergalactic race that will once and for all resolve the dispute over the title of the best scientist in the universe. Their opponents on the way to this title will be three other teams: Das Liquidators, Cool City Maulers and Valiant Cube. The winners will be those who manage to get through the routes prepared by the organizers and answer correctly more questions in the field of physics in its broadest sense. Will it be the Los Turbos team? Everything depends on the player.
After starting the game, a map of the city where the race route is marked appears to our eyes. The numbers are the subsequent checkpoints to which one of the five means of transport can be reached. Of course, a journey costs money, the faster the vehicle is. We earn the necessary money by answering questions and that is how we get to the heart of the matter. The puzzles are very different and generally related to the place where we are at the moment. If we arrived at the airport, we can be sure that most of the questions will be about aerodynamics, if we are going to build - we will have a test of mechanics. Although this is a game for children aged 8-12 years, even old players may have problems answering some questions. Admittedly, the program can be corrected in case of a mistake, but then we earn less money. At the bottom of the screen there is a handy menu with the help of which we can learn something about the instruments scattered on the board. Generally, however, you have to hurry up, because the computer does not vacuum and it may turn out that by measuring the temperature of boiling water for too long, we suddenly fell far behind.
The program has colorful VGA graphics in low resolution, friendly characters and a friendly user interface. Although this product is very well suited for younger players, older players can also reach for it, if only to see how much of it is left in their heads from physics lessons.
