The official expansion pack for id Software's online FPS shooter Quake III: Arena. As the name suggests, the expansion focuses primarily on refining the team gameplay aspect of the game, taking it much further than the previously known classic Team Deatmatch mode.
Quake III: Team Arena is the official expansion pack for Quake III: Arena. It offers not only more weapons and maps but also completely new game modes. Team Arena comes with a broad team play system that goes way beyond a regular Team Deathmatch. The players will fight to hold strategic areas or storm an enemy base, among other things.
One of the new modes is the Harvester, in which our task is to reach the object located in the center of the map, and then carry it to the enemy base. In Obelisk, the objective is to destroy the enemy obelisk that slowly regenerates when not under attack. Another novelty are power-ups scattered around the team base and available solely for its members. It allows for building a team consisting of players with different skills (for example: scout – increased speed, doubler – increased strength).
- A few new maps for the Capture the Flag and Deathmatch modes.
- Two new game modes: Obelisk and Harvester.
- Return of classic weapons: chain gun, nail gun and proximity grenade launcher.
