Punch Club 2: Fast Forward

Punch Club 2: Fast Forward is a combination of an economic strategy, a simulation game and a sports manager. It was developed by Lazy Bear Games, the same studio responsible for its predecessor from 2016.

Plot

The game is set in a retrofuturistic version of the near future. The playable character is a young martial artist competing for the championship belt.

Mechanics

Punch Club 2: Fast Forward combines many different genres to simulate the life of a young man dreaming of succeeding in the ring. This includes both the sport itself as well as everything else.

The player must take care of the fighter's training, diet, develop his skills, arrange fights and plan strategies for them. Each victory increases our reputation and provides us with funds we can invest into our career, gradually facing more powerful and famous opponents. We can also use illegal substances and banned cybertraining, although its risky, as our reputation will take a massive hit if we're caught.

Sports isn't all the game has to offer, as our character also has a life outside the gym and the ring. The player can explore a futuristic city and interact with many different characters. They can even work for the police or the mafia. Yet another possibility is creating our own fighting style and setting up a school to teach it to others. Time management is an important part of the game, as we never have enough time to do everything we wanted.

Punch Club 2: Fast Forward features an expansive storyline. Our interactions with different characters and the choices we make affect the further development of the story.

Game modes

The game is only playable in singleplayer.

Technical aspects

The 2D visuals of Punch Club 2: Fast Forward make use of an appealing, heavily pixelated retro artstyle.
