Project Powder is a snowboard race made in the convention of MMO game. Unlike competing titles, PP is available to free-to-play players, and success in races depends much more on the players' skills than the upgrades purchased in the online shop.

The concept of the game is based on the rivalry of players on snowboards. You can choose from a number of fun options. In the classic race mode everyone can take part in the race, and the success is determined by a sequence of tricks appropriately selected for the route, which allow you to increase the speed of the ride. In combat mode (PvP) players can interfere with the opponent using different skills and gadgets that their characters have at their disposal. The third mode - coin mode, based mainly on arcade elements, and the task of the participants of the race is to collect as many coins as possible on the route.

In each mode you can also organize team races, which are a bit like battles between clans in other MMO games.

A characteristic feature of Project Powder are borrowings from RPG. By participating in races, players accumulate experience points, thanks to which their characters can advance to the next level, developing skills and learning new tricks. Also your snowboard equipment can be subject to various modifications and improvements.

People who reach for Project Powder for the first time may initially be discouraged by the overwhelming number of available options. Luckily, most of the settings don't have to be worried about at first, because after a few races you won't have any problems understanding them.

The game offers several types of avatars representing players. Their appearance can be modified mainly due to the items acquired or bought in the store (e.g. wings, clothes, boards). However, the routes on which the races are held are very varied.

Graphics Project Powder stands out from the standards of the end of the first decade of the 21st century. However, it is enough to look at the technical requirements of the game to understand the intentions of the creators. PP can easily run even very old computers. The lack of graphic design is compensated for by the interesting stylistics and dynamics of the action.

Also interesting are the links between Project Powder and sister title SnowBound Online, published by German company Advanced Cyber Entertainment. Both games use the same graphical engine and look very similar. However, the SBO is distinguished by a larger number of available routes, slightly more extensive competition options and more frequent updates.
