Project: Playtime Description
PROJECT: PLAYTIME is a free asymmetrical multiplayer horror game. The title is a spin-off of the episodic survival horror game Poppy Playtime. In the game, six players are tasked with traversing a toy factory in search of seven parts, while avoiding a hunted stalker controlled by a seventh player.
Plot
PROJECT: PLAYTIME is set in the Poppy Playtime universe. Players take on the role of employees of the toy manufacturing company, Playtime Co. while their task is to retrieve toy parts from the closed areas of the company's factory. These abandoned areas are prowled by stalkers familiar from Poppy Playtime, hunting down the intruders.
Game mechanics
PROJECT: PLAYTIME is an asymmetrical multiplayer game, with a gameplay style resembling Evolve or Dead by Daylight, among others. Six players take on the roles of Playtime Co. employees, tasked with delving into the company's outposts and searching for toy parts, from which together they must build one giant toy. They are equipped with GrabPacks, the elongating artificial hands on wires familiar from the original. Players can use them to solve puzzles, grab heavy objects or slam doors in front of a monster. The enemy can't be fought - players must escape from the pursuer and survive until the objective is completed.
The seventh player takes on the role of one of the monsters known from the original game, while his task is to kill the company's employees. Each of the available pursuers has different skills and play style. The pursuers also have at their disposal so-called sabotages, which are skills that make the players' lives miserable. Using sabotages, monsters can, for example, damage fugitives' GrabPacks, blind them or set traps. New skills, perks and also cosmetic items are unlocked with special currency received for each game.
Game modes
PROJECT: PLAYTIME contains only the online asymmetrical competitive mode.
Technical aspects
The audiovisual setting of PROJECT: PLAYTIME is similar to the original. The biggest difference is in the maps, such as a dark and disturbing factory or an illuminated and seemingly safe theater.
