Project Kane
Project Kane is a dynamic action game maintained in the convention of science fiction. The player takes on the role of a hero who, in the world of the future, has to face the ruthless federation of Chun and its deadly robots.
developer: UTV Ignition Entertainment publisher: UTV Ignition Entertainment
Project Kane is the first large development project of UTV Ignition Entertainment, a company known primarily for its publishing activities on the British market. The production of the game, which was initially known as WarDevil: Unleash the Beast Within, was taken care of by Digi-Guys, the corporation's in-house studio.
The action of the game is set in the future, in which the Chun federation governs all. Its work, spreading terror and destruction, led mankind to the brink of extinction. The hero is the only chance for survival for the few remaining alive, who is the only one who can harness the hidden beast and with its help put an end to Chun federation's rules.
The gameplay of Project Kane was designed for spectacular clashes with hordes of enemies. The action was shown from a third person perspective (TPP), and the task of the player-controlled hero was to sow destruction in the ranks of hostile robots using a variety of futuristic weapons.
According to the development team, the game was created with the technical capabilities of the seventh generation consoles - Xbox 360 and PlayStation 3 - in mind. The original graphics engine was to provide a spectacular, three-dimensional visual setting rendered in real time.
Note: The premiere was initially announced for 2005, but the date was postponed several times. In response to rumours of project cancellation, UTV Ignition Entertainment announced in 2010 that development work is still underway and the game changed its title to Project Kane. A year and a half later, the head of the British company decided to stop the production of games (apart from PK, there was also Reich's first-person shootout in the production) and focus on publishing activities.
