Mechanics

The gameplay consists primarily of tactical clashes in the turn-based system. In the game, we take control of several members of the Steel Dragons by giving them orders on the battlefield or by taking direct control over them. The free-aiming mode switches the view to the third person and allows for manual shooting.

Project Haven requires tactical thinking. We need to use environment elements, hide behind covers to reduce the chance of enemy damage, demolish walls to get to hard-to-reach places, and aim at appropriate body parts (e.g. by firing on the leg, we slow down the enemy). Additionally, to further highlight the tactical character of the game, the creators introduced various types of ammunition and bullets. They should be selected according to the situation on the battlefield. It is worth adding that the mercenaries' movements are not limited to any fields - the characters can move freely on the map.

In the game we perform a variety of tasks. Project Haven offers many different ways to achieve the goals, which encourages repetition of individual stages. There is also a character development system, thanks to which we raise the attributes of the character and unlock new skills for the experience points gained.

Game modes

Project Haven allows you to play a feature campaign alone or in cooperation with two friends. In addition, it offers a duel mode, where we can face up on randomly generated maps with enemies controlled by Artificial Intelligence or by other players.

Technical aspects

Project Haven features three-dimensional graphics and a dark atmosphere highlighting dystopian reality. The developer also took care of the full audio of the characters and used motion capture technique to create the animation.
