Pro Cycling Manager 2021

Pro Cycling Manager 2021 is the twenty-first installment of the popular series of cycling managers. The game was developed by the French studio Cyanide, which has been working on the series since 2001, when its first part was released.

Mechanics

Pro Cycling Manager 2021 has been provided with various licences, thanks to which it features over 800 riders and 80 teams, as well as over 260 races and 700 stages known from real cycling competitions. The icing on the cake is the 21 official stages of the Tour de France 2021.

In the career mode, we play the role of a sports director of a cycling team. We can manage one of the existing teams or create our own one from scratch. During the game we have various duties on our head. We recruit cyclists, hire personnel to take care of them (led by coaches, doctors and scouts looking for new talents) and arrange training plans, and above all - provide them with the best equipment and the opportunity to compete in all the major races. Since we need money for all this, we have to pay a lot of attention to finding sponsors during the game, as well as take care of our team's finances. An important role is also played by taking care of players' morale, because it is directly related to their performance.

In the Pro Cyclist mode we create our own cyclist and join a selected team. Accomplishing the goals set for us, we achieve subsequent victories and gradually build our position both in the team and in the whole cycling world. As we progress, we unlock new skills and we become a better (and more expensive, because as a consequence, competitive teams will start to reach out to us, wanting to have us in their ranks) cyclist.

In the game numerous improvements have been introduced, which make it stand out from its predecessors. First of all, the system of objectives set for individual cyclists has been modified. The number of goals is limited by such factors as the fatigue of a given cyclist and unpredictable random events. In addition to the World Championships, the European Championships were added to the calendar. The weather, which affects the morale and condition of the riders, has also been taken into consideration. The interface has also been improved, and selected aspects of the fast-paced simulations (such as the distance between riders during time trials, the inclusion of hill characteristics in hilly stages, and the effect of cobblestones on the ride) have been enhanced. The list of selected new features includes previously absent brands, such as Canyon, Merida and Specialized frames, Lazer and Rudy Project helmets and Corima wheels.

Pro Cycling Manager 2021 allows you to play solo or in competitive multiplayer mode.

Technical aspects

Although the graphic design of Pro Cycling Manager 2021 does not impress with its quality, it fulfils its task. User interface, although extensive, is clear enough not to interfere with efficient team management.
