An RPG with pixel-art graphics, turn-based combat system and arcade elements, taking inspirations from the Pokemon series. Portal Fantasy allows us to explore a fantasy land and participate in turn battles. We can use the Porble creatures we've gathered to fight for us.

Portal Fantasy is an RPG, clearly inspired by the Pokemon series. This game is the debut project of an independent development studio known as Portal Fantasy Team.

Gameplay

In Portal Fantasy we can watch the events from a bird's eye view. We explore the kingdom and get to know its inhabitants, from whom we receive quests. On the way, we not only discover new plot threads, but also collect creatures known as Porble, which can serve us on the battlefield.

Puzzles and turn-based combat

The battles take place in turn-based mode, and during them the camera changes perspective to a side view. The key to success on the battlefield is to deploy a unit of Porbles, whose members will complement each other. Each of the creatures has an individual set of skills and strengths and weaknesses. Moreover, the synergy between individual specimens allows to activate unique passive abilities.

The game allows us to improve Porbles and adapt them to individual needs and preferences, as well as to merge them, which leads to their evolution and change in appearance.

Gameplay enhancements

The fun is diversified by dexterity challenges. Sometimes exploration involves the need to avoid traps and overcome terrain obstacles, as well as jumping on platforms. There are also puzzles in the game. The icing on the cake is the ability to modify the appearance of our character using a variety of costumes.

Game modes

Playing Portal Fantasy requires an Internet connection. Although on the day of the premiere the game only offered the possibility of playing alone, the creators promised to enrich it with a multiplayer mode.

Story

Portal Fantasy transports us to the fantasy kingdom, which a thousand years ago became the arena of the goddesses' war. During the game, we take on the role of a freshly baked adept of the Porble Academy, unexpectedly drawn into a whirlwind of events involving an ancient enemy, mysterious organizations, and contaminated Porbles.
