Police Tactics: Imperio is a title created by CyberphobX, a studio experienced in creating various simulators. The game is a mix of a real time strategy and a police precinct management simulator. Police Tactics: Imperio was released for PC
Plot
The action of Police Tactics: Imperio begins sixteen years after the dramatic events that took place in a fictional city of Newport Falls. During that time, John Croft, the officer responsible for shattering the Imperio syndicate was murdered. From that moment, the criminal organization works from within the shadows, and its first, open action after a long break was attempted murder of the mayor. Instead of him, the assassination attempt resulted in death of the police chief – the vacancy was taken by Harvey Croft, who is the protagonist of the game. From now, he is the guardian of law and order, and his final objective is to capture the mysterious leader of the titular organization.
Mechanics
In Police Tactics: Imperio, the players assume the direct control of their subordinate precinct. Their primary tasks are to fight crime and coordinating the actions of individual policemen. Aside from that, the protagonist has to obtain evidence, find culprits, and train new units, which as the time goes, get promoted to officers, or detectives.
During the gameplay, we have to keep an eye out not only on the available budget, but also on resources that we can use at the given moment. Along with successes, we unlock further precincts, new units, and resources. As the time goes, we receive not only new police cars, but even helicopters that allow our subordinates to quickly deploy to the place of action.
Technical aspects
In Police Tactics: Imperio for PC the action is presented from a top-down perspective. The whole game takes place in a three-dimensional environment, but the visuals are rather mediocre. However, it is worth mentioning that the streets of Newport Falls are populated by original, German or American police cars. News of events from the game world are relayed by fictional radio, modeled after similar devices used by real American law officers.
