Platform 8 Description
Platform 8 is a first-person adventure game with horror elements and a prequel to The Exit 8. Similar to the previous game, we find ourselves in a seemingly endless space - this time it's a subway train car - where we are forced to overlook anomalies in order to continue exploration. The game was developed by the authors of the first installment, the independent studio Kotake Create.
Plot
We start the game in a moving Japanese subway train, in which there is only one seated passenger besides us. The aim of the game is to find a way to stop the train at the titular eighth platform. While moving between compartments, we notice anomalies that we must avoid in order to get out of the subway.
Mechanics
Just like in the last game, the exit from the seemingly endless location is made difficult by constantly appearing anomalies that we cannot see. In case of failure, we do not move forward, and moving on only allows us to get back to where the game started.
Anomalies are everywhere and in various forms, and the tunnel-like nature of space makes it difficult to avoid them, which is a challenge. When we manage to get through them without being noticed, the train stops and we reach exit number 8 known from the previous title.
