Pirate King Online is a Korean-made MMORPG created by MOLI Group Limited. Due to the cartoon and colorful graphics, the program should appeal especially to younger users and lovers of Japanese comics. We can also find here some similarities to another fairy tale MMORPG - Fly For Fun (Flyff).

We start the game by creating a character and choosing one of the three available starting lands (forest, winter and desert). Every region is largely surrounded by sea water, so the preferred means of communication are boats and ships (although you can use teleports). However, before we can afford our own bench, we have to go through a long and arduous process of enrichment. Our pirate can take one of the four available forms, two male (Lance and Carsise) and two female (Ami and Phyllis). Each character starts with a Novice degree, but as he or she gains new levels of initiation, he or she can turn his or her profession into a more advanced one. Lance is a born pirate, specializing in great sea travel and adventure. Depending on our preferences, he can start his path to fame as a Fechmaster (Swordsman), Hunter (Hunter) or Explorer (Explorer), and finish it with figures accordingly: A Crusader, Sharpshooter or Voyager. Carsise is a strongly built semi-demon with a kind heart, with much less opportunities for development - always starting with the Fechmaster, but then he can turn into a rare, powerful Champion. Another character is Phyllis, a charming and small woman with supporting skills - she can choose the path of the Hunter or Explorer, but the most natural choice seems to be the Herbalist (Herbalist, with the possibility of promotion to Cleric or Seal Master - Seal Master). The stake is complemented by a slightly childish and loving animal, Ami, who has access to the paths of the Explorer and Herbalist described above.

It is not difficult to notice the distance and sense of humour of the artists. The heroes' models are highly caricatured and exaggerated, while the NPCs (and monsters in particular) are often completely crazy (rolling melons, aggressive cacti, mystical flowers, giant snails, etc.). However, while battles with land fauna are not particularly innovative, the system for controlling battles at sea is quite fresh and requires different tactics as the number of ships involved in the battle increases. Having more triumphs at sea can bring us many benefits, including material ones - we can even gain control over our own island, and then manage its resources and develop the controlled territories. There was also support for the professions - players can choose from a set of different types of professions, more easily and calmly gaining funds for the implementation of the plans of the next sea voyages.
