At the time when more and more three-dimensional pinballs were appearing on the electronic entertainment market, 21st Century Entertainment, a distinguished 21st Century Entertainment company, was stubbornly adhering to the old convention, although it also reached the conclusion that the traditional form, divided into four tables, was becoming a thing of the past. However, instead of trying their hand at full 3D, the authors decided to make what they reigned so far more attractive, resulting in the creation of the most unconventional flipper simulator in the history of computer games, called Pinball World.
General assumptions are simple. The player is not tied to several tables from which he chooses at the beginning of the game, but travels between them, depending on what he succeeds in hitting. For example, we start the game on one table, from where we can move on to the next nine. There, on the other hand, there are hidden bonuses, which can be donated by one of the fifteen other tables, which in total gives us a dizzying number of 25 boards. If we add to this the fact that each of them corresponds to a geographical region, we will have a full picture of the program, in which the player travels the world with the help of balls and flippers - hence the title of the game. But this is not the end of the novelty. Previous productions of 21st Century Entertainment, had tables that were expanded upwards, while in Pinball World, there are - and this relatively often - boards that allow you to scroll sideways as well. The player has three tickets at his disposal, but their loss is not as obvious as in other productions of this type. In order to lose one of the balls irretrievably, you must first lose credits, the amount of which is shown by the counter at the top of the screen. As if that wasn't enough, in any place we can use the save option and save our progress in exploring the pinball world.
Pinball World is an original product, but also a relatively strange one. Fans of computer flippers may have difficulties in getting used to completely innovative rules of the game, in which the loss of balls is not as obvious as usual, and accidental hitting a hole may suddenly change the table for us. Nevertheless, the 21st Century Entertainment proposal is quite interesting as long as enough time is devoted to it to make everything that is strange in it simply the norm.
