A third installment in the Pinball FX series. In the game developed by Zen Studios, the player can try out new, themed pinball machines, as well as import most of the machines from Pinball FX2 and Zen Pinball 2. The game attempts to translate the real pinball experience into a video game setting.

Pinball FX3 is the third installment in the Pinball FX series started in 2007 for both consoles and PC. The game has been developed by Zen Studios – pinball experts who have spent many years developing this series as well as the secondary one entitled ZEN Pinball.

Mechanics

The gameplay mechanics are typical for the pinball genre – players manipulate the moving flippers at the bottom of the play field trying to keep the metal ball in the game for as long as possible. The objective of the game is to bounce the ball in such way that it hits multiple targets and does not fall into the drain located below the flippers. One receives points for hitting various elements, shooting the ball through special holes, ‘gates’, and other elements of the table. A player has to acquire as many points as possible before they run out of balls.

Pinball FX3 continues the tradition of delivering multiple thematic tables that are based on various movies, comic books, books, etc. Fans of the previous installments will be glad to hear that the game allows them to import most of the pinball machines from both Pinball FX2 and ZEN Pinball 2.

Game modes

The previous installment in the series featured a multiplayer mode, however, it is Pinball FX3 available on PC, PS4 and etc. that puts a strong emphasis on the social aspects. Apart from entering friendly matches, players can participate in an online league and multiple tournaments organized by the fans themselves, in which they compete for the best score in the worldwide rankings.

Developers have not forgotten about those, who prefer to play alone as well as those, who have never played any pinball game before. Pinball FX3 offers several game modes allowing a player to familiarize himself with the rules and improve his skills before he competes with other players in the multiplayer mode.
