Piloteer is a physics-based arcade game in which we control an inventor who is testing his invented jetpack. The game was created by Whitaker Trebelli's Fixpoint Productions studio - the creator of such titles as Polymer or Pivvot. The production was released on mobile devices and is a premium product (it doesn't include microtransactions).
Plot
We play as an inventor, who managed to create a modern jetpack. Thanks to his discovery, he can become a real hero and contribute to saving thousands of human lives. However, before the device can be used freely, our hero must run advanced tests and research on the jetpack.
Mechanics
The action of Piloteer takes place in various sceneries with different types of obstacles which can require us to use slightly different flight tactics. To control the jetpack, we use two virtual buttons, located on the left and right side of the screen. They are responsible for individual rocket engines mounted in the jetpack. Depending on which engine you are using, the character moves to the right or left side of the screen, but when you want to ascend vertically, you have to hold down the buttons responsible for both engines.
This seemingly simple task turns out to be a challenge due to the physics engine used in the game. The hero is characterized by a lot of inertia, and one wrong move can cause him to perform various dangerous moves, which will eventually end up with a hard landing. The whole looks a bit comic, thanks to the use of the rag-doll system.
Technical aspects
Piloteer is characterized by very original graphic design, reminiscent of a collage made of colored paper.
