Phobos Vector Prime: The First Ring is a twin-stick shooter developed by the independent Gunstar Studio. The presented title is the debut work of this Spanish team.
Plot
Action in Phobos Vector Prime: The First Ring takes place in 2490, when mankind invented the technology to conquer the Solar System (and not only it). This led to the outbreak of the war for influence, which culminated in the battle for the title Phobos. It's one of the moons of Mars, over which all parties of the conflict want to take control due to its strategic location.
During the game you play the pilot named J.L. Brown, the leader of the Renegade gang, who joins the outlaws in cause of obtaining additional money. The protagonist remained in hiding until his ship was damaged by a mysterious explosion. Then he decided to investigate the situation and accidentally got involved in the conflict.
Mechanics
Phobos Vector Prime: The First Ring consists of six levels where you sit at the controls of a space fighter. With the camera view located high above the battlefield, you take part in dynamic combats with waves of enemies and powerful bosses. In addition to skillful shooting at enemy units, success is ensured by setting traps on them, hacking their systems or using the help of allies. In addition, your chances of winning are increased by power-ups scattered on the battlefield.
Technical aspects
Phobos Vector Prime: The First Ring has decent quality graphics; especially the effects of fire and explosions look quite spectacular. Moreover, you will hear a dynamic soundtrack with sync-wave music from the eighties.
