A sports golf simulator from HB Studios and 2K Sports companies. The biggest novelty introduced in PGA Tour 2K25 is the brand new EvoSwing mechanic. It allows for new types of swings and influences how the ball can roll & fly. We can have fun on the golf courses alone (MyCareer mode is the main attraction) or play local / online multiplayer.
PGA Tour 2K25 is a golf sports simulator belonging to the series that began in 2014 under the name The Golf Club, and was then renamed to PGA Tour after the rights were acquired by 2K Sports. The team behind the development of this production is HB Studios.
Gameplay
The pillar of gameplay in PGA Tour 2K25 is participating in golf matches, during which we embody one of the licensed professionals or a self-created character. In addition to the advanced physics engine, a new swing mechanics called EvoSwing has been implemented in the game, introducing new types of shots and ball flights, as well as the rules for rolling the balls.
The rhythm of the games is determined by the seasons (the start of a new one is equivalent to resetting the rankings), which are accompanied by content updates. The game features licensed tournaments, such as U.S. Open Championship, The Open Championship or PGA Championship.
MyPlayer and Course Designer
Within the MyPlayer mode, we can create and develop our golfer, deciding on their attributes and skills, as well as equipping them with increasingly better gear, by making use of the equipment development system. The authors of the game have focused on individual elements of this aspect of the gameplay, enriching it with new functionalities.
We fight for victory either in real locations or on golf courses created independently or by other players in Course Designer mode. This mode one has been enriched with new tools, objects and types of surfaces, as well as a new camera system.
Game modes
We can play PGA Tour 2K25 solo or in multiplayer mode (online or locally). For the purposes of multiplayer gameplay, a number of match types have been prepared, including Stroke Play, Match Play and Scramble. The pillar of single-player is the career mode called MyCareer, with round simulations, training matches, and pre-tournament events.

Multiplayer First: 8 / 10 by Dean James
While we’re not quite at a hole-in-one or eagle quality, 2K once again builds upon their previous outings to be in birdie territory with PGA Tour 2K25. The gameplay is phenomenal yet again by providing about as realistic representations of the sport as you’ll find in gaming, but the downside is that what surrounds it is still rather bare bones and has a very sluggish menu to navigate when doing so. Even with a few major flaws, the true-to-life gameplay that is even further enhanced via the EvoSwing system makes up for the issues to provide players with yet another fun golfing simulator in PGA Tour 2K25.

The main cons of the game

Users expressed frustration over the virtual currency (VC) system, which has been described as limiting and requiring excessive grinding or real-money purchases to progress.

- Technical Issues: Several users mentioned bugs, crashes, and slow loading times, which detracted from the overall gaming experience.
- Online Play Issues: Problems with matchmaking and network errors were common complaints, leading to frustration during online play.
The features or elements that are missing from the game according to users
- Masters Tournament: Some players expressed disappointment over the absence of iconic tournaments, such as the Masters, which they felt should be included in a golf simulation game.
- Fair Progression System: Users desired a more balanced system for earning VC that doesn't heavily favor those willing to spend money. They suggested that the game should offer more opportunities to earn in-game currency through regular play.
- Improved Online Features: Suggestions included the addition of a chat system or emote features for multiplayer interactions, as well as better matchmaking systems to ensure fair competition.
- Customization Limitations: Some players felt that the available customization options for clubs and cosmetics were limited and should be expanded.
Summary
- In summary, while PGA TOUR 2K25 offers strong gameplay mechanics and graphics, it faces significant backlash due to its monetization strategy, progression pace, technical issues, and missing iconic tournament features.
