Perils of Man is a PC adventure game. The player takes on the role of a teenager looking for the lost father of a scientist. The game is about exploring the location, talking to characters and solving riddles, which is helped by numerous inventions of the heroine's parent.

Perils of Man, released on PC and AND, is a classic adventure game with a point-n-click interface. The production was developed by IF Games studio, and the main designer and artist was Bill Tiller, the author of the graphic design for many classic games by LucasArts and the creator of the Vampyre Story series.

Plot

We play as a sixteen-year-old girl named Ana Eberlin. One day she receives a parcel from her father who disappeared years ago. Inside, she finds mysterious glasses which, according to the attached letter, break the so-called destination code and thus make it possible to predict what will happen in the future. The heroine decides to use this invention to find her father and discover the truth about the secret history of her family. The campaign also has a time travel theme and the story takes place throughout over a hundred years, allowing us to visit key moments in history.

In terms of gameplay mechanics, Perils of Man is a classic adventure and, as befits a game of this genre, it focuses on exploring locations, having conversations, collecting items and solving puzzles. The glasses play a key role - when you use them, each location is covered by a grid describing the risk and cause and effect relationships, making it easier to find a way to solve the puzzles.

Technical aspects

The strength of Perils of Man is its visuals . Bill Tiller is famous for his beautiful illustrations and was assisted in his work by people with experience in creating commercial animations. This resulted in attractive 3D graphics which have an interesting cartoon style.
