A virtual exploration game for VR goggles, developed by the British nDreams studio. Perfect offers no plot – the players are given three different environments which can be freely explored. We visit sunny, tropical beach, high peaks of mountains and snowy valley with a scenic aurora above it. We observe the world from first-person perspective and we look around by turning our head. Dedicated controllers let us interact with some objects.
Perfect is an interactive, first-person experience, developed by nDreams - a British studio developing titles for virtual reality goggles, the creators of The Assembly. Perfect is available on PC and PS4.
Mechanics
Perfect doesn't offer a story mode. Instead, it allows players to explore three different environments - from the sun bathed in tropical beach, through mountain peaks, to a snow-covered valley with a beautiful polar aurora. The action is presented from the first person perspective - the player can freely look around by moving their head and interact with selected objects by using dedicated motion controllers. A number of settings have been implemented in the game to change the time of day, as well as the viewpoint. The unusual gameplay is accompanied by ambient music - however, nothing stands in the way of using your own list of songs thanks to the integration with Spotify, or decide to listen only to the sounds of the environment.
Technical aspects
Perfect on PC and PS4 is characterized by high quality, three-dimensional graphic design. The individual open-air areas have been designed with attention to detail, and the most impressive is the refined water surface and the enormous view distance. The production requires virtual reality googles to work; it also uses dedicated motion controllers, although they are not obligatory.
