The production takes you on simplified tour of Pelé’s career: you start on the back alleys of a small Brazilian town, then you climb on the football career ladder higher and higher, and finally win the World Cup and a status of a true football legend.

Pelé: Soccer Legend, released on AND and iOS, is a soccer arcade game. The production is available in a free-to-play model with microtransactions and was developed by Cosi Games studio.

Plot

The game is connected with the biographical film Pelé: Birth of a Legend. It allows us to play the whole career of this soccer player in a simplified form. We start on the ragged streets of Brazilian towns, become a professional player and finally win the world championship.

Mechanics

Pelé: Soccer Legend isn't a traditional soccer game in which we play full matches. Instead, the game consists of a set of logical-arcade challenges, simulating specific fragments of matches. In most of them, we have to come up with a way to score a goal or to make a difficult pass, and then implement this plan with surgical precision. We do this by quickly drawing shapes with our finger on the screen, so a good reflex will also help. The game uses a quite realistic physical engine, although it also has arcade elements such as numerous special powers.

In total, there are 150 levels set in different locations and cities, where we have to complete over a thousand challenges. Completed stages give us the virtual currency which we can spend on unlocking new outfits and accessories. Pelé: Soccer Legend also has a multiplayer mode, allowing you to compete with other players.
