Panic in the Park is an adventure game with arcade elements, to which the term interactive film fits. In this suggestive association with the series Myst production appeared, among others, the actress Erika Eleniak, known for her role in the series Sloneczny patrol.
A point&click adventure game with digitized films, typical of this type of production from the 90s. The intrigue in Panic In the Park revolves around the eponymous funfair. After the death of the previous owner of the facility, his two twin daughters fight for the takeover of the amusement park. However, both women have completely different goals. The first one, Jamie, wants to continue his father's work, while John wants to demolish the whole complex and build a huge car park in its place. The latter is closer to success at the start of the game, but the situation may change if the legal act indicating the true heir to Skyview Park can be found. As you probably guess, this difficult task will fall on your shoulders. Time is scarce, because the matter has to be closed in one night.
In Panic in the Park we observe the action from the perspective of the first person. We move between locations by clicking on the interactive points on the edge of the screen - if the hero can point to a selected page, a short video showing his journey is launched. In addition to puzzles typical for adventure puzzles, focusing on the proper use of the acquired items, the Imagination Pilots product contains a dozen or so not too complicated logic-arcade mini-games. They are connected with the attractions available in the funfair itself, so we have bowling, shooting at targets with a ball or a game of piercing balloons. Crediting these challenges is necessary to complete the adventure.
Although the game offers a coherent and closed script, the authors allowed themselves to include a few random elements encouraging them to face the intrigue again. A thief can be as many as nine heroes, a legal act is hidden in one of the six locations, while clues about the identity of the villain can be found in three different places. However, it does not change the fact that the other elements are fixed - so it is impossible to finish the game successfully without saving the funfair.
Like most adventure games from the early CD-ROM era, Panic in the Park was also filled with digitalized films. The leading roles (Jamie/Jan) were played by Erika Eleniak, a TV actress known from the Playboy session, star of the series Sunny Patrol.
