In Pacify we play the role of an agent of a company dealing with paranormal creatures, and our first order takes place in an old, haunted house. The gameplay includes both a singleplayer and multiplayer modes. The game was created by independent creator Shawn Hitchock, responsible for another horror - Emily Wants To Play.

Plot

At Pacify, we take on the role of a newly hired employee of Pah Inc., a company that deals with paranormal phenomena. Our first order takes place in a haunted house that someone wanted to buy, but the rumours of the town's inhabitants about strange things happening in this place make him doubt it. In order to do this, we are contacted by a real estate agent who needs clear evidence that it is safe to convince the customer to buy at home.

Mechanics

Pacify is a first-person horror with elements of survival, where we play the role of one of the researchers, who with his convention resembles another work of the creator - Emily Wants To Play or Slender-Man. We end up in an old house that turns out to be haunted by a young girl's phantom. Our task is to find all the relevant notes and information that will allow us to get to know our enemy and understand what has led to the place now inhabiting in this form. The task is not easy, however, because the phantom sees and hears us. In order not to fall into her murderous paws, we cannot make any noise and get in her way, or stay in one room for too long.

The production is not linear and gives us the opportunity to freely explore the house and interact with many objects.

In Pacify we can fight alone or in the company of three friends. Depending on the mode we are together in the team and together we try to finish the adventure positively, or we stand on the other side of the barricade and our task is to prevent the rest of the players from this happy finale. In the first case, a good strategy and the ability to cooperate will be needed.

Technical aspects

Pacify is a fully three-dimensional production, maintained in the dark climate of an abandoned house, whose corridors are illuminated only by a flashlight. This, together with atmospheric music and unexpected sounds, deepens it even further.
