The fifth and final strategic part of the 5-Star General cycle, in which we return to the fronts of World War II and focus on the struggles led by American and Japanese troops in the Pacific Ocean.

Pacific General is the fifth and last part of the 5-Star General strategic cycle by Strategic Simulations Inc. After travels to the fantasy world and space, which were served to the players in previous scenes, we return to the fronts of the Second World War. This time, however, the game focuses on the struggles of the Allies and Axis troops in the Pacific.

In the game we can take part in two campaigns: the Allied campaign, in which we command the U.S. fleet, or the Japanese one. By choosing a single script mode, we can take the side of one of the 31 countries participating in the war, each of which uses its own characteristic historical units. The battles that will come to us illustrate both these real and hypothetical events.

Fights in Pacific General take place mainly in the air and on the water, but there will also be some land battles. That is why among the arsenal of units we can find various types of warships, submarines, air carriers, bombers and fighter planes, as well as infantry or artillery units. Realism is added by the fact that all units are available to players only from the moment they are actually put into use. For example, American jets can only be used in combat during the hypothetical Japanese invasion at the turn of 1945 and 46.
