over the hill is the second, after Golden Lap, fruit of the collaboration of independent studios Funselektor Labs from Canada and Strelka Games from Italy - with the chief position of the former, which previously made a name for itself with the creation of the games art of rally and (to a lesser extent) Absolute Drift. This time the developers tackled the theme of off-road driving.

Gameplay

over the hill was set in the "golden era of off-road", i.e. in the 1960s, 1970s and 1980s - or at least it recreates the iconic off-road cars of the time, such as the Ford Bronco, Land Rover and Toyota Land Cruiser (in unlicensed versions).

We can drive these models on open maps in varied biomes, from grassy valleys to snow-covered mountain slopes (we move between them by discovering portals). Although the creators emphasize relaxing driving and exploration, as well as gloating over the views, we have to watch out for difficult terrain - subject to dynamic deformation - as well as changing weather conditions. There is also a daily cycle.

Over the hill sets various goals for us to complete, and the rewards for this are new vehicles, upgrades and parts to personalize the appearance of the machines. Finds scattered around the maps are also provided.

Coop

An important attraction in the game is the network coop mode, which allows you to drive together with friends and help each other (if only by using a winch). However, nothing prevents you from playing Over the Hill alone.

Graphics, photo mode

Although the game has minimalist visuals (similar in style to those of Art of Rally), it is capable of generating picturesque views, which we can capture with the photo mode built into Over the Hill.
