The next installment of a series of baseball managers by Out of the Park Developments studio. The game offers a huge number of real leagues and teams, along with full lists of players, whose effectiveness in the real world is reflected in the statistics of the game.

Out of the Park Baseball 20 is the next installment of a series of extensive baseball manager games. In the game we get the opportunity to lead one of the teams belonging to many world leagues - e.g. a team playing in the most popular American leagues, such as MLB.com and MLBPA. Interestingly, it is possible to play in any season - even up to 150 years back. Creators have all the necessary licenses, thanks to which we receive authentic team emblems, names and even player statistics based on the results of real matches. The game was developed by Park Developments studio, consistently developing the series since its inception.

Mechanics

In Out of the Park Baseball 20 we act as a baseball team manager. Our task is to lead our players during league games, supervise their training, select line-ups, take care of finances, search for new talents, as well as develop club infrastructure.

One of the novelties in this installment of the series is the LIVE services system, which keeps track of the results of matches played this season, adjusting player statistics depending on their effectiveness on the pitch. The choice of strategy and possibilities during matches has also been increased, the system responsible for simulation and artificial intelligence of the opponents has been improved (not only during the games themselves, but also in the strategic layer - in aspects such as player sales, contracts and line-up building). Calculations for tie breaks have also been improved as well as the interface.

The devs also improved the history mode (the statistics are more representative) and added several new leagues: Czech, German, French and Spanish.

Game modes

Out of the Park Baseball 20 can be played solo or with others. The basic game was prepared with single player mode in mind, but we can also use Perfect Team 2.0 mode, which is an extension of the concept known from the previous installment. It enables us to compete against tens of thousands of teams in the online baseball "universe", where we try to win the title of Perfect Leagues champion.

This multiplayer module resembles the FIFA Ultimate Team mode, which can be found in EA Sports' football simulators. The gameplay here is enriched with elements of card game - playing and achiving various goals we get packs containing new player cards (in total there are more than 3 thousand of them). Each player has a set of statistics. Unwanted cards can be sold in the shop or put up for auction (the second option can provide more profit).

Technical aspects

Out of the Park Baseball 20 features decent graphic design, which consists mainly of statistic screens and interface. During the matches we also have the opportunity to observe the struggles of athletes in three dimensions. The creators have developed this aspect since the last installment - we have new animations, thanks to which the meetings look a bit better. Nevertheless, it is difficult to talk about a breakthrough, because both stadiums and player models are not very detailed. However, the graphics are clear, which is undoubtedly a plus.
