Out of the Park Baseball 17 Description
Out of the Park Baseball 17 is the next installment of one of the longest-running and most popular series of baseball managers, launched in 1999 by Out of the Park Developments and appearing in a regular, annual publishing cycle practically from the very beginnin. The new installment of the game traditionally contains a large number of novelties and improvements, some of which are based on a feedback consistently collected by creators from the community.
Mechanics
In terms of mechanics, Out of the Park Baseball 17 is no different from the previous parts of the cycle, putting us in the role of manager and coach of a baseball team, whose task is to take care of all the most important aspects of the team's functioning. Depending on the function performed in the club, our duties may include both carrying out transfers and signing contracts with players and establishing training plans, line-ups and tactics for subsequent matches, as well as managing the entire club facilities, financial sphere and team budget, not to mentions staffing all key positions.
Out of the Park Baseball 17 is fully licensed, for the first time in the history of the series, both by MLBPA (Major League Baseball Players Association) and the official MLB.com website. Thanks to that we can enjoy not only original names and pictures of players and current line-ups for the beginning of the 2016 season, but also a very extensive set of statistics - based on the ZiPS system, created by a member of SABR (Society for American Baseball Research), Dan Szymborski. Apart from the world's leading baseball league, i.e. the American MLB, there is also a number of smaller independent leagues and 8 international leagues from countries such as Japan, South Korea, Taiwan, Mexico, Cuba, Italy, Australia and the Netherlands.
Among the changes in the field of mechanics we should first of all highlight the improved artificial intelligence of managers, each of which has slightly different individual predispositions to manage particular aspects of the club's work. The game has also greatly improved the transfer system and player search options, in which can now also include specific criteria that correspond to the current needs of the team.
Game modes
Out of the Park Baseball 17 offers a traditional set of gameplay modes for single and multiplayer fun. An absolute novelty, however, is the Historical Exhibition mode, in which we can play any historical team, selected from an extensive database covering the years 1919-2015 and a total of more than a hundred thousand players.
Technical aspects
Out of the Park Baseball 17 offers further enhancements to the constantly evolving 3D match engine, such as improved texture quality, more details and improved lighting effects. There is also a number of changes in the user interface, making the game even more intuitive, offering quick access to all the necessary options. Developers from OOTP Developments also worked on better game optimization, and with the addition of multi-core processor support, data processing speed has improved by up to 60 percent compared to the previous year's installment.
