Out of Space

Out of Space is a independent co-op game set in space, where together with other inhabitants of a space station we have to take care of the base, guarding order, supplies and protecting it from alien attack. Behold Studios, known from such productions as Chroma Squad or Knights Of Pen and Paper, is responsible for the game.

Plot

The time has come when we and our friends can live in our dream home in space. However, it turns out that the situation does not look as good as it might seem. In addition to down-to-earth cleaning duties, the management of the resources necessary for our life, we have one rather unexpected job on our hands: fighting aliens. They regularly attack our home and make our life miserable.

Mechanics

In Out of Space, the game is divided into missions. Each of them takes place in a procedurally generated house, which in a way makes it difficult to play the game, but also requires us to think strategically. It is only through efficient cooperation and good planning that players are able to fend off accumulating dirt and alien attacks. All effects are observed from isometric projection. We will have to take care of the garden and regularly water plants that give us food, clean rooms with water and mop, repel alien attacks and collect ooze-like substance (which we then convert into energy that feeds our ship), build new equipment or take care of the rest of the characters.

The technologies that we discover during the game play an important role in the game. Thanks to them we can improve our work efficiency and some of our duties can be automated with the use of robots. All this makes it much easier to take care of the premise. In addition, we can adopt one of the animals that helps us with gratitude. With time, missions become more and more demanding and difficult to plan activities and share responsibilities.

Game modes

Out of Space is aimed at playing with others, locally or via the Internet (the game supports cross-play), but company is not required. In this way, fans of solo game can also find something for themselves.

Technical aspects

Out of Space is a typical party game, so the visual layer is colorful and cartoonish, which gives a humorous effect emphasized by a nice soundtrack.
