Ostriv is a city builder from the independent studio yevhen8, which gives us the opportunity to lead the 18th century city. The player takes on the role of a manager whose task is to take care not only of the development of the economy, but also of meeting the needs of the residents.

Ostriv is a city builder created by the independent studio yavhen8. The game was developed over a long period of time as the work of one developer - Yevheniy. The team working on Ostriv grew only 4 years after the start of development. We play the role of the manager of a 18th century town and our task is to develop the settlement while taking into account the needs of the residents.

Mechanics

Ostriv is a city builder, whose atmosphere resembles such productions as Banished. In the game we try to bring our city to glory by skillfully managing production chains and providing for basic needs to our residents.

Ostriv features extensive production chains. In order to have bread, the player must take care to obtain (through trade or farming) grain, then deliver it to the mill, where it will be ground; the prepared flour must be transported to the bakery. Similar connections are common in the production of goods and in the construction of even the most basic buildings (after all, we have to get boards, clay and nails from somewhere).

When creating the economic power of our village, we must not forget about its inhabitants. The settlers lead their own lives and have their basic needs. Just like in The Settlers, the people in the game live - start families, shop, learn a trade, or even trample the grass on the paths they follow most often. This is because they have their own needs. For example, if the food supplied to the settlers is not varied enough or is too scarce, they will be dissatisfied; the situation is similar if, during the winter, they are forced to live in tents. If we neglect the needs of our residents, they may leave the settlement and eventually lead to its complete depopulation.
