OrbusVR is an extensive MMORPG, which was developed with VR goggles in mind (HTC Vive and Oculus Rift). The production offers the possibility of exploring a vast fantasy world together with our friends and taking part in various activities typical for the genre. The title was prepared by Orbus Online studio, which developed it thanks to fundraising campaign on Kickstarter.
Plot
The players start their adventure in a small village, being given the task of helping the local guild. The hero quickly lands right in the thick of events that force then to travel across the entire kingdom.
Mechanics
OrbusVR is a typical representative of the MMORPG genre - with the difference that we explore the vast game world (offerinf more than 10 square kilometres and divided into several locations) with VR goggles on our heads. Players have the ability to perform multiple tasks and fight monsters using an intuitive controls system that requires "manual" archery, runecasting or attacking with melee weapons - all thanks, of course, to the motion controllers. Our effectiveness in combat depends on the speed and efficiency of movement.
The production offers four different character classes - Ranger, Musketeer, Warrior and Runemage. As the game progresses, our hero can level up and gain new abilities and special attacks. Of course, there is no shortage of progressively more powerful equipment. When we get tired of waving our weapon, we can always put it aside and get busy crafting - e.g. alchemy, enchanting items and fishing.
The work of Orbus Online also features content for whole groups of players. This includes dungeon crawling with unique mechanics, as well as hunting for bosses roaming the world, which we won't beat if we don't work together.
Game modes
OrbusVR has been designed for multiplayer mode. Although the game offers a story campaign that we can theoretically discover alone (we are on the same server as other players - the content has simply been designed so that we can play solo), the main course here is definitely a game that requires interaction with others.
Technical aspects
OrbusVR has a fairly simple three-dimensional graphic design. The technical shortcomings of this production are well camouflaged by the colorful, fairytale-like artistic style, which cannot be denied a certain charm. The game operates in premium model - after a one-time purchase we do not have to pay any additional fees. The title is supported by VR equipment using both 180 and 360-degree control systems.
