OPUS: Echo of Starsong

OPUS: Echo of Starsong is an adventure game focused on solving various puzzles, as well as space exploration in which we accompany two protagonists in acquiring a precious substance that is the source of numerous political conflicts and uncover a secret that it and the entire universe are guarding. The game was created and published by SIGONO INC. studio responsible for the previous games from the OPUS series, i.e. OPUS: Rocket of Whispers and OPUS: The Day We Found Earth.

Plot

The game takes place in an alternative future where asteroids contain a mysterious substance called Lumen. It is so powerful that it became a subject of disputes. In the game we play as Lee, a boy who was banished by his people and now wants to possess Lumen himself in order to make his clan famous and join it again. Unfortunately, things don't go as smoothly as he'd like - until he meets a young woman, Edah, whom he saves from trouble. For the woman is a witch who can sense the presence of substances. Thus begins an adventure for these two that will change them forever.

Mechanics

OPUS: Echo of Starsong focuses a lot on world exploration. Apart from exploring various cities we have to travel on a spaceship in search of Lumen through areas belonging to different and conflicting factions; we also have to avoid asteroids and other obstacles. On our way we meet a number of side characters with whom we can interact and learn about their history. In some of them we even have a chance to find an ally sympathetic to our cause. In addition, we will find here a lot of different environmental puzzles (and not only) to solve, and even a segment based on resource management.

OPUS: Echo of Starsong is a 3D game with a characteristic setting referring to the style typical for Japanese animations.
