Onimusha Tactics is the next installment of the famous and valued by many people series of games. In this case, however, we are not dealing with an action game with a third person's perspective. As the title suggests, Onimusha Tactics is a combination of turn-based tactical strategy and role-playing. In many ways this title seems to resemble such productions as Disgaea or Final Fantasy Tactics Advance. The game's production and release is the responsibility of Capcom, which is well known to players. At the same time, Onimusha Tactics is the only game in the series that was released on the Nintendo portable console.

Contrary to what one might think, the plot plays at most a symbolic role. Practically the whole game is based on the execution of missions, which consist in fighting a very large number of duels. These fights are played in turn-based system. This means that both teams (player and opponent - controlled by artificial intelligence) make their moves alternately. Each activity takes up a certain number of movement points. After they are exhausted we can choose another character or wait for the opponent's movement. A player's team can consist of up to eight characters. The composition of the team is of course determined before the start of the fight. There is no possibility to exchange team members during the actual battle.

Each of the commanded characters can perform several fairly standard operations. We can therefore change the position of a team member (including turning him in the right direction), launch different types of attacks, or finally use the inventory. Noteworthy are the exceptionally powerful attacks called Issen, allowing you to kill or severely injure a selected enemy with a single blow. At the end of the battle the characters receive experience points and gain new skills. Detailed statistics are also displayed. It is worth mentioning that it is possible to upgrade and create new elements of equipment. Magical stones are used for this purpose. Visually, Onimusha Tactics presents a rather similar level of performance to Final Fantasy Tactics Advance. The events are observed in isometric projection.
