Onimusha 2: Samurai’s Destiny is a subtle fusion of fact, myth, mystery and intense samurai sword action that redefines the PS2’s boundaries for graphics, gameplay and story telling.
In the year 1560, the warlord Nobunaga, having defeated Imagawa on the battlefield, lost his life by an arrow from an enemy soldier. Yet this wasn’t the end of Nobunaga’s fate. He was resurrected by the power of demons that reside deep in the underworld and returned to rule with an army of the undead.
With Japan on the brink of terror and destruction, a young samurai named Samanosuke appeared and defeated the newly crowned King of the Demons.
However, unbeknownst to all, the nightmare had only just begun.
In the summer of 1573, thirteen years after the original Onimusha horror, Nobunaga has risen from the underworld once again and started to achieve his old ambition to unify Japan…
* Onimusha 2: Samurai’s Destiny offers players intense action-adventure gameplay with hand-to-hand sword combat and some of the most impressive production values ever in videogames. The enhanced hand-to-hand sword and spear fighting system allows you to charge each weapon to inflict more damage on the enemy.
* Another new combat technique is the Ultimate Art move. The special move – that is specific to each weapon – is executed with a sequence of commands and allows the player to put down an enemy in one fluid motion.
* Danger is everywhere! Get ready to fight armies of demon warriors and monstrous creations designed by the renowned Japanese character designer Keita Amemiya.
* Interact with the support characters! Depending on how you interact or help out the supporting characters you meet throughout the game players can alter the storyline. If you ingratiate yourself well enough with one of your group and you can use them as a playable character later on. Characters could also die in the middle of the story or possibly betray you. The ending is fixed but the path you take to get there will vary...
