One Piece: Pirate Warriors 4 is an action game that combines the realities of a popular Japanese comic book with a powerful combat mechanics based on the popular Dynasty Warriors series.
One Piece: Pirate Warriors 4 is a third-person action game. This is the next installment in the popular series developed by the Japanese studio Omega Force, which borrow ideas from another brand of this studio, namely Dynasty Warriors.
Plot
As the title suggests, the action is set in a fantasy universe known from the Japanese comic series One Piece, written by Eiichiro Oda. These realities combine the atmosphere of pirate stories with magical elements.
Like manga, One Piece: Pirate Warriors 4 tells the story of the crew known as Straw Hats, led by a captain known as Luffy. His ambition is to find the legendary treasure and become the Pirate King. The game plays back the most important events from the original in an interactive form, allowing players to relive the adventures well known from the comic book and its animated adaptation.
Mechanics
One Piece: Pirate Warriors 4 remains faithful to the formula introduced in the previous three installments in the series. Players get to enjoy a third-person action game revolving around fighting hordes of enemies using an arcade system of skirmishes.
The player can control many characters known from the comic books. Each of them has different weapons, fighting style, and special attacks. According to the tradition of the series, players are usually attacked by large groups of enemies, often consisting of several dozen warriors. From time to time, one also has to face powerful bosses.
Technical aspects
The game has pleasing to one's eye three-dimensional visuals made in a cartoon-like style, based on animated adaptations of the One Piece universe.
