One-Eyed Likho Description
One-Eyed Likho is an FPP psychological horror adventure game based on Slavic folklore. It was created by Morteshka, an indie Russian studio also responsible for The Mooseman (2017) and Black Book (2021).
Plot
One-Eye Likho tells the story of a blacksmith who's never experienced harm. One day, he sets out on a journey in search of evil.
Alongside a tailor met along the way, he delves deep into a forest. Soon, both travelers come across a hut belonging to a tall, gaunt, one-eyed woman, ending up on a run from the titular likho.
The game's plot is based on a 19th century fable by Nikolai Ivanovich Volkov, a Russian historian from the Voronezh Governorate and a chronicler of Rus' pre-Peter I The Great cultural heritage.
Mechanics
One-Eyed Likho is a first-person adventure game, narratively drawing from psychological horror. The player must traverse a dark forest, trying to outwit the pursuing likho. To avoid a miserable end, the protagonist must find clues scattered throughout the game's levels and learn its story.
Matches are an important item, not just due to providing light. One-Eyed Likho features plenty of puzzles revolving around setting things ablaze or burning them.
