Mechanics

Olija is a 2D action game with platformer elements. On the path of our hero, there are not only numerous enemies, but also environmental traps that can kill as effectively as a sword or a bow.

The most important part of our equipment is the harpoon. It is at the same time a weapon and an indispensable tool for navigating through successive boards. In addition to the ability to strike devastating blows, it is also used for throwing, and if it hits the enemy or a suitable element of the environment, then we can also instantly attract ourselves to that place.

However, harpoon is not the only part of our character's equipment. We can also collect various side weapons, from swords to firearms. Additionally, during the game we find various headgear, which allows us to increase our basic statistics.

During our travels we are disturbed by both enemies and the land itself. When exploring Terraphage, the player must be ready to fight not only humans, but also strange creatures living in the wilderness. Elements of the environment can also kill us, such as spikes.

The map in the game is divided into screens, which are connected to each other and we can move around them freely. In order to get to where we want to go, sometimes we have to visit different levels many times and look for passages to other locations, this is due to the platform character of the game. For example, when walking on the upper part of the map, we may come across an obstacle that is not present when travelling in the lower part of the map. Then it forces us to step back.
