The player has the opportunity to prove himself as the head of a company dealing with oil extraction, and his task is, among other things, to build drilling platforms and ensure their efficient functioning.
The Drilling Platform Simulator is an unusual simulation game, which allows you to get acquainted with the arcanes of working on oil extraction. The title was created by a development team from Linksolutions Games, a Chinese studio specializing mainly in casual (occasional players) and mobile productions.
The player's responsibilities include searching for the best oil and gas deposits, controlling various types of ships (tugboats, barges, tankers, floating cranes, etc.), building drilling platforms, as well as ensuring optimal extraction of valuable raw materials by introducing more and more effective solutions. The game is coloured by random events and the resulting problems, which should be dealt with on an ongoing basis.
Developers took care of complex mechanisms regulating the work of virtual platforms. Most devices and structures can be retrofitted by selecting from a range of options available. The orientation in the rather intricate arcanes of the game is facilitated by extensive tutorial missions.
From the visual side, the Drilling Platform Simulator definitely stands out from modern standards in computer games. Three-dimensional graphics in the game are striking with a small number of polygons, from which models of ships, devices and structures were built. Also, the effects applied, including the reproduction of water, leave no illusions as to the low-budget nature of production.
